Hi everyone, Katie here! I wanted to personally thank our amazing community for an overwhelming response to our little Halloween idea! What started as a little idea turned into a full 4 hour event and the ideas of more events to come.
This year we knew that there are still many cancelled events due to the COVID-19 restrictions. My kids are now teens, but it wasn't that long ago that I was looking for safe, warm events for them to go to on Halloween. We are hopeful that the next event we are able to hold will allow for more families to be in the village at one time.
We also know that this event would not be possible without our host, the Penticton Safety Village. Thank you to Tina and the team for allowing us to hold the event in a safe environment that most children are familiar with.
Lastly, thank you for the community sponsors! We had responses within a couple of hours of sending our first sponsorship emails. Since the event launched last weekend, we have had new sponsors every single day. We are still in need though of grand prizes! The prizes needed should be kid friendly. Examples are passes or gift certificates to local kid activity places of businesses, local book stores or shops.
